This morning, after praying for Patrick and his family, I read this verse…
Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”
There are two things in this situation that I know with absolute certainty. One: The Ogden family belongs to God. Two: NOTHING (not even a brain injury) is too hard for God.
I saw a picture of the vehicle they were in. It rolled and was hit from every angle. Trust me when I say that it is an absolute miracle that any of the eight members of their family survived. There had to be angels protecting them!
Miracles are already happening with Patrick. He had no seizures during the night or today. The doctors warned that the pressure in his brain would go up over the next few days. It did spike earlier today from 4 to 10, but quickly went back down. That’s the power of prayer! He has two places on his brain that are bruised and bleeding. Please continue to pray for the bleeding to stop and the bruising to heal.
Chris (the Mom) has injuries to her leg and chest. They are better today than last night. Praise God! Scott (the Dad) has staples in his head. He is sore today, but otherwise doing good. Praise God! Ming (the tennis pro) broke his nose and his face is beat up, but Chris said he looks better today. Taode (Seth’s friend) and all three sisters are doing well. Thank you, God. Thank you, God. Thank you, God!
I know many of you are friends with this amazing family and you’re asking “Why?” I did the same thing last night. “God, why would you allow something so traumatic to happen to a family who walks so closely with you?” Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. We don’t have to know why. God does. Romans 8:28 ALL THINGS work together for good for those who love God… God is using this situation for good. Period.
Several people have asked about sending cards. I asked today and they will not be moving Patrick to a different hospital. I’m sure that they would appreciate cards or encouraging notes (there is no room for flowers or balloons or any large items in the ICU). We are planning to send them gift cards to make life a little simpler since they are displaced. If you would like the mailing address please comment with your email address and I will send it to you.
Thank you all for taking moments out of your lives today to pray. All I ask is that you continue to find moments to pray for Patrick and that you ask everyone you know to do the same.
Be Blessed!
Kaci- thank you so much for the updates!!!! I would love to send a card.
Thank you

I want to send a card from TC Williams…and a gift card. Can you please send me the address and suggest types of gift cards? We are all thinking of Patrick, Scott, and the whole family.
